This is a great book that provides a detailed look into the career and life of ATF agent (now retired) and author Wayne M. Miller. It describes his adventures and interesting experiences throughout his long and exciting career. Some of the highlights include the training and background needed to be a Certified Fire and Explosives Investigator and the fire science relevant to several of his cases. In this book, the author describes some amusing stories and also some very touching and tragic cases. It is an inspiring book that is both entertaining and informative.

The last chapter of “Bang Boom Burn”regarding the Worcester 6 fire brought tears to my eyes as I was there that horrible night, and I also stood inside the Centrum during the Memorial service. I didn’t work the pile searching for the fallen, however I did work two 12 hour shifts covering Worcester fire stations as all Worcester firefighters dug and searched for 8 days before all 6 firefighters were recovered from the rubble. Wayne, thank you for the compassion you show for firefighters and fire investigators especially in this chapter. Many firefighters were changed forever during that tragic two week period. Such a sad horrific event, however I was never so proud to be a firefighter during them sober days.
I am just a small town firefighter, however during the 80’s, 90’s, I investigated many fires and worked closely with many great investigators mentioned in both books, including the author Wayne Miller.

After reading Mr. Miller's second book "BANG BOOM BURN", I'm looking forward to a third (3rd) book (hint for Mr. Miller). I have read "BURN BOSTON BURN" and this book captures your attention too! However, it hits several emotions throughout the book and it makes you wonder "How?" when you read the difficulties it is to prosecute or the jury's verdict. Anyone that is planning on becoming an arson investigator, in my opinion, these two books "BURN BOSTON BURN" & "BANG BOOM BURN" is a must read and an added collection to the rest of the books you will collect along the way.
